영성과 전문성을 갖춘 하나님이 기뻐하시는 합창작곡가를 그의 음악적 비전으로 삼고 따뜻한 선율과 화성을 통해 많은 이들에게 감동을 전하는 그는 지금까지 800여 곡에 달하는 작품을 작곡 및 편곡하며, 다양한 음반과 악보집을 통해 널리 연주되고 있다.
그의 음악적 비전은 사람들의 마음을 울리는 아름다운 곡을 창작하는 데 있으며, 성가곡을 비롯해 가곡, 뮤지컬, 일반 합창곡 등 다양한 장르에서 왕성한 활동을 이어가고 있다.
국내에서는 월드비전 합창단, 인천시립합창단 등 주요 합창단에 의해 그의 작품들이 연주 되었으며, 국내 여러 출판사를 통해 다수의 곡들이 출판되었다. 특히 그의 작품은 한국을 넘어 국제 무대에서도 인정받아, 영국의 권위 있는 출판사 Oxford University Press 로 부터 크리스마스 캐럴집 ‘World Carols for Choirs’에 작곡가로 위촉되어 작품이 수록 및 출판되기도 하였다.
그의 음악은 깊이 있는 영성과 독창적인 음악적 색채를 바탕으로, 국내외 합창 무대에서 꾸준히 사랑받으며 새로운 감동을 만들어가고 있다.
Hyun Chul Lee is a composer recognized for his ability to balance spiritual depth with musical excellence, creating works that glorify God through artistic beauty.
With a clear artistic vision and unwavering dedication, he has composed and arranged more than 800 works, earning acclaim for their warm melodies and rich harmonies. His music is widely performed by choirs and has been featured in numerous recordings and published sheet music collections.
His compositions have been performed by distinguished ensembles, including the World Vision Choir and the Incheon City Choir, spanning a wide range of genres from sacred choral music to musicals. His works are published by leading Korean music publishers, including Chorus Center, Joongang Art, and Sunmin Music Press, and encompass sacred choral works, art songs, and a variety of concert repertoire.
Lee has also received international recognition through a commission from Oxford University Press to contribute to the acclaimed Christmas anthology World Carols for Choirs.
